Written by bestselling author and elite performance expert Robin Sharma, 5 am club takes you on a journey around the world with its beautiful story and effective self-improvement techniques!
What’s it about?
A part parable, part self-help book, The 5 am Club revolves around the journey of two strangers who have reached a low point in their lives and are desperate to get themselves back on track. They first meet when they attend a personal optimization conference as a last resort to save their lives.
A chance encounter with an eccentric tycoon soon who ends up becoming their secret mentor soon turns into an exciting trip around the world while they learn the lessons required to get their lives back on track and achieve great success personally and professionally!
What I liked about the book?
Robin Sharma has always been known for blending in his life-changing lessons inside a beautiful story and he doesn’t disappoint with this one.
Unlike his previous book, The Monk who sold his Ferrari, this book provides readers with more practical lessons on effectively establishing an early morning routine.
Written as a part parable, it will leave you feeling inspired and excited to become an early morning person. That’s something that you don’t easily get with other morning routine books.
“ All change is hard at first, messy in the middle, and gorgeous at the end! "
What did I not like about the book?
At times, Robin got a bit too much into the story of the two strangers, resulting in the practical lessons getting overlooked at times.
The book is filled with practical lessons, maybe a bit too much. In almost every chapter, a ‘tablet’ is introduced which provides a new set of tactics or principles to be implemented. It felt like Robin was trying to squeeze too much into this book.
This book provides immense wisdom along with practical ideas backed by scientific research on why we should make the most of our early mornings and rise with the sun. Even though at times it may feel like too much information, Robin Sharma knows exactly how to inspire the reader to take action on the lessons in the book!
